Equipment

Competitive Edge uses the Voxco CATI system. Our Voxco system imposes no limits on our ability to collect data appropriate to the research objective. Voxco’s extensive experience in telephone surveying (more than 26 years) ensures a high quality and leading-edge solution that we apply to all of our projects. A few of our capabilities are:

65 CATI Seats. This allows for the flexibility to take on large projects, but is also easily manageable right down to the individual interviewer.

65 Noise canceling headsets The best CATI headsets available, they provide clear sound quality while canceling the background noise providing a more pleasurable and audible experience for both the interviewer and the respondent.

65 15” Flat panel monitors. Our monitors show crisp detail, allowing smaller font size while still being clearly visible. In addition, they emit very little heat, as compared to a regular monitor, allowing for a cooler, and therefore more comfortable interviewing environment.

3 Dedicated supervisor stations, all with full monitoring capabilities. These allow our supervisors to monitor both the screen and the audio of an interview in progress while keeping the interviewer in sight.

4 Cordless phones with headsets for monitoring. These allow our supervisors to roam the CERC phonecenter among the interviewers, while monitoring the calls in progress. Steady and constant monitoring is very important for data quality.

Monitoring: Using their workstations, floor support personnel and managers can observe any interviewer conducting an interview at anytime.

Multi-project management: The system supports as many projects – and variations of projects -- as necessary.

Verification: Integrated audio functions allows for digital recording of verbatim responses.

Field management tools: quota management, monitoring of interviewing screens, productivity reports, and immediate and secure access to project data.

Call-backs: Redials and scheduled call-backs are managed at whatever degree of sophistication required.

In-project call transfer: Calls can be transferred from a generalist interviewer to an interviewer with special/expert skills (such as a Spanish speaker) and knowledge in the subject of the survey.

Originating phone number: Any phone number can be placed in the respondent’s caller-id window, or “unavailable” can be displayed.

6 PRI ISDN Trunks (Each contains 24 in/outbound circuits). ISDN lines provide digital voice quality. In addition, each trunk has a D channel that is able to detect a busy or disconnect without taking a voice path, allowing a higher volume of calls on fewer lines.

Dedicated 10 Mbps Ethernet (up and down) Internet access. Extremely fast internet access allows us to easily transmit and receive huge batches of data. Our very close relationship with the ISDN and Internet provider -- Cox Business Services -- ensures our technology is always up and running at peak performance.
