I’m John Nienstedt, and for more than 35 years, I’ve been diving deep into the world of public opinion research. Numbers are my jam; I’ve woven digits and data into the fabric of my daily life. Inspired to shed new light on California’s buzziest issues, I thought a “numbers first” approach would be a fun way to draw attention to them.

The whole thing started as a casual newsletter sent to a handful of friends and family during the Pandemic. Thanks to enthusiastic responses, it’s morphed into something bigger, what I call my “Top 3 Tuesday Numbers.” They blend humor with insight, and ensure a balanced perspective that resonates with Californians from every background.
